Launching them into adulthood.

Picture
One of the greatest joys in life is to see your child walking as follower of Christ in their adult years.  In order to make their transition from your home where you decide and control much of what they do and focus on, now you face a season of change where they take the reigns and make decisions on priorities, relationships, work and or school, etc.; we will do them well to put time and energy in making their 'launch' special, memorable and filled with celebration of whom they have become and the gifts the Lord has given them for their benefit and for the benefit of those around them.  Students who have benefited from intentional Christian parents putting time and prayer and energy into raising them as disciples of Christ will see fruit!

One Example...

Sample Plan for a Launch (Male)

Before Event:

Invite Influential Godly Men (and their sons) to the Launch

Ask attendees and those unable to attend to write a paragraph
of 'Man Wisdom' to the Graduate  - Compile in a Book or Video

        Secure location

        Create evening schedule

Shop for necessary items/groceries

During Event:

Eat! BBQ Tri-tip Anyone? Burgers? - Men love to eat together!

Play a game (softball, kickball, soccer, trivia, any game that easily involves all ages)

Present written notes or video from influential men gathered ahead of time

Bring folks together to spend some time sharing counsel and advice (aka, Man Wisdom)

Pray for Graduate

After Event:

Write a note and seal it for their luggage or to find in their room if they will still be at home following Graduation. Let it be a charge to take what they've learned about Jesus, values that have been passed on to them, and your expectation that a close relationship between the two of you will continue on in a different way as they make their impact in the world as an adult!
Hide it so they find it at their next destination (luggage, dorm room, basic training, room under a pillow, etc.)

100% of people agree...

... time goes fast! It must be true. Enjoy and savor every moment with your children, from birth to graduation - they will benefit spiritually from each and every effort you make as a parent to be intentional with them. Before you know it they will off on their own adventures, and Lord willing, they will have great memories of their own that will provide a great idea board for their own parenting adventure! Thank you taking a look at all of these Faith Path Steps. We hope and pray that they are helpful in bringing a sense of "I can do that!" or "I have an idea what I'm called to do as a parent!"
God bless you and your family!!!
